This cannabis strain really needs no introduction. This powerful indica-dominant hybrid (with sativa effects) has been known for quite some time, not only in the US but also in Europe. It is probably one of the most famous cannabis strains in the world to emerge in recent years. The name of the strain already suggests what you can expect from it. Gorilla Glue #4 has genetics from some very powerful parental lines: Chem’s Sister, Sour Dubb and Chocolate Diesel. They are all part of the famous Sour Diesel/ Chemdog family of strains with an amazing lemony, fuely, chocolatey flavor and a very uplifting, creative effect that can turn into a couch- lock if you consume enough of them. Particularly the Sour Dubb species is an interesting parent of GG4. The Sour Dubb is considered an East Coast Sour Diesel selection from the famous Rez (known for his incredible love of Sour Diesel in his own line). This selection always brings out the sweet/fuely/sour powers of the Diesel and this manifests itself in every cultivar made with it. Chem’s Sister is a more Chemdog oriented cross that adds that chemical flavor and potency.
Aside from its great effects, Gorilla Glue is also a fairly easy plant to grow. It responds well to different training methods and can receive a lot of nitrogen in the vegetative phase and a lot of potassium and phosphorus in the flowering phase. It prefers moderate temperatures and will produce maximum resin production in those conditions. Most phenotypes seem to have strong Sour Diesel characteristics (sometimes 70 days flowering phase), while others lean more towards the Chemdog side, with a smaller plant, shorter flowering period but with that typical chemical-lemon scent and very high potency. It produces a mental euphoria, combined with total body relaxation. If you harvest GG#4 after the 65 day flowering period, you will definitely be glued to your chair. Harvesting this strain when the majority of the trichomes are milky and some are transparent will give you more uplifting effects that won’t put you to sleep.
